Garofalo e il Cinquecento Ferrarese - Estense Castle, from April 4th to July 6th 2008
The first great Exhibition planned by Ermitage Italy in Ferrara will be centered on the figure of Benvenuto Tisi da Garofalo. The Museum of Saint Pietroburgo has chosen Ferrara in order to open a branch in our country - a center of search and study on the immense patrimony that it guards - on proposal of the Province of Ferrara, underwrite from Common of Ferrara and Region Emila Romagna. Little inquired artist, Garofalo, famous also like the ferrarese Raffaello, strongly influenced the local school in the first half of the 1500's. From the Ermitage they will reach therefore, beside lend you of other international museums, extraordinary works never exposed before hour in Italy, like three exceptional paintings of great dimensions, realizes to you from the artist in 1530 for the convent of Saint Bernardino.
